Open Studio
Location: House of Dreams
Lyme, New Hampshire
The studio is open on Thursdays from 9am to 5pm for weaving instruction. Students are given a loom to use, a variety of yarn to choose from, an instruction booklet, all other necessary equipment, access to a textile library, and instruction in topics from beginning to intermediate. 4 and 8 harness looms are available.
Fee: $10/hour.
Individual Instruction
Classes in a variety of subjects such as felting, knitting, natural and chemical dyeing, shibori, handspinning and advanced topics in weaving (e.g. computer drafting and sectional warping) can be arranged by appointment.
Fees: $10/hour plus materials.
Study Groups
From time to time study groups are formed according to student interest. Topics have included: felting, knitting, dyeing and shibori.

Joan Morris, an internationally known shibori artist and costume designer, teaches classes in shibori and surface design.

Using chemical dyes, paste, wax, and shibori resists, and discharging.
For new and returning students, some experience with dyes and surface design necessary.
